Clilstore

CLILSTORE

Clilstore is a store of copyleft content and language integrated teaching materials.
It is being developed by Caoimhín Ó Donnaíle at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig as part of the European funded TOOLS project (2012-2014), led by Kent Andersen in Denmark and with other partners from Denmark, Ireland, Lithuania, Portugal, Spain andEuroCALL.
Clilstore uses Wordlink, a WWW based facility which links arbitrary webpages automatically, word by word with online dictionaries. And Wordlink in turn uses Multidict, a multiple dictionary lookup facility which makes use of freely available online dictionaries. Both Wordlink and Multidict were developed as part of the European funded POOLS-T project (2008-2010) and their development is continuing as part of the present TOOLS project.

 Multidict

Multidict is a multiple dictionary lookup facility. It was developed by Caoimhín Ó Donnaíle at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig to work in conjuction with Wordlink and with Kent Andersen’s TextBlender, as part of the European funded POOLS-T project (2008-2010), and development is being continued as part of the European funded TOOLSproject (2012-2014).
Multidict allows the user to select easily from a choice of online dictionaries. Built into it is a large database of dictionaries with information on the languages they cater for and the parameters they require. Multidict attempts to remember the user’s previous dictionary choices so as to speed up subsequent selection.          Multidict also includes a facility to link to dictionaries in page-image format at the Web Archive, Google Books, etc, via an index of the initial word on each page.

Turkey Siege: Hostage, Gunmen Killed

Istanbul (CNN)A prosecutor involved in a controversial case died Tuesday after he was shot during a hostage siege in an Istanbul courthouse.

Prosecutor Mehmet Selim Kiraz died in the hospital from injuries he suffered during the attack, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said, speaking to reporters on Turkish television.
The two gunmen who took the prosecutor hostage were killed in a shootout with police after a standoff that lasted for hours.

The teen died the following March after having spent nine months in a coma. The case, with its overtones of possible police overreaction, has been politically contentious, just as the protests themselves were.
In an online post widely cited in Turkish media, the left-wing Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front claimed responsibility for the attack. The post said the gunmen were seeking to avenge Elvan's death.

The gunmen took the prosecutor hostage around 12:30 p.m. in his office on the sixth floor of the Caglayan district courthouse, the semiofficial Anadolu Agency reported.

Police evacuated that floor of the building, the agency reported, and snipers were deployed.
An explosion, followed by sounds of more gunshots, could be heard coming from the courthouse Tuesday evening, hours after the siege began.

Istanbul Police Chief Selami Altinok said Kiraz had been shot before Turkish security teams entered the room where the hostage crisis was unfolding.
